Welcome to our (somewhat lighthearted) A-Z Guide to Aesthetics, where we break down our treatment world one letter at a time.

It’s probably no surprise that the aesthetics industry continues to grow. With it, comes new treatments and words, so aesthetics may seem a confusing place at times.

It doesn’t need to be!

There are a few key areas that are worth knowing, so we’ve picked our favs to have a bit of fun with in our A-Z Guide of Aesthetics.

A is for Anti-Wrinkle

Anti-wrinkle treatments are our favourite anti-ageing wand that whispers, “Wrinkles? Never heard of them.” (But we have heard of these anti-wrinkle myths).

B is for Botox

Because sometimes, your forehead needs to look as calm as your meditation app says you are. Botox is the world famous anti-wrinkle brand, having been around longer than most of us.

C is for Chemical Peel

For when your face needs to hit “refresh”, a chemical peel is a perfect skin treatment reset.

D is for Dermal Filler

Plumping your lips, cheeks, and confidence levels simultaneously, dermal fillers are a crowd favourite.

E is for Exfoliation

Out with the old (skin cells), in with the glow.

F is for Facials

Like a spa day, but for your face. Your pores will send you a thank-you note when booking these skin treatments.

G is for Glow

The ultimate goal. If you’re not glowing, what are you even doing?

H is for Hyaluronic Acid

A skincare ingredient so hydrating that absolutely everything uses it, including our Hyaluronic Acid & Collagen Serum (was that done subtly?)

I is for IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Zapping away imperfections faster than you can say “laser tag for adults”

J is for Jawline Contouring

For when you want your jawline to look sharp enough to cut glass, jawline filler and contouring is the way to go.

K is for Keratin

The wonder protein that helps our hair, nails, skin, and more.

L is for Lip Filler

Lip filler is one of the U.K’s favourite treatments; who doesn’t love a good set of lips? Just make sure you learn to bust these myths about lip filler.

M is for Microneedling

A hundred tiny needles poking your skin… sounds fun, right? But oh, the microneedling glow after!

N is for Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial folds; those smile lines that remind you of all the laughs you’ve had… but we can soften those a bit.

O is for Oxygen Facial

Because your skin deserves to breathe luxury (and an ozone steam is part of all of our facials).

P is for PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Also known as the “Vampire Facial,” because nothing says beauty like using your own blood.

Q is for Qualified

No jokes on this one. Simply make sure any practitioner you use is educated and qualified. That, and we were struggling to think of something beginning with Q.

R is for Retinol

The overachiever of skincare ingredients. Wrinkles? Acne? Pigmentation? Retinol’s got it covered.

S is for SPF

The real MVP of anti-ageing. Because the sun’s rays aren’t your friend.

T is for Tweakments

Not quite a transformation, just a little “you, but you feel better.”

U is for Under Eyes

The under-eye skin rejuvenation treatments that lifts your dark bags and carries them for you.

V is for Vitamin C

Brightening your skin like a morning cup of coffee brightens your day.

W is for Weight Loss

From fat-dissolving injections to weight management options, weight loss is an achievable goal when coupled with a healthy lifestyle.

X is for Xenomin

Another wrinkle-smoothing brand option, and thankfully it is, as I didn’t want to just stick X-ray down here.

Y is for Youthful Glow

The elusive fountain of youth, bottled in serums and treatments.

Z is for Zzzzz…

Beauty sleep: the most affordable aesthetic treatment of them all. Don’t skip it!
