As a Gummy Smile treatment is a POM (prescription-only medicine), you’ll meet our prescriber in clinic, as treatment is subject to clinical suitability determined during your face-to-face consultation.

How do Gummy Smile appointments work?
Gummy Smile treatments are prescription only medications, so the process varies slightly to ensure that all guidelines are met, and to ensure it’s the best treatment plan for you.
Adele, our Head Practitioner, has done countless treatments over the years. In this consultation, she’ll look at your facial anatomy, chat about what your goals are, and the techniques she would used based on a combination of the above.
Our required health questionnaire form is sent out before your appointment electronically. Adele will go through this and confirm if there are any areas she should be aware of, and you’ll also meet our prescriber who will then issue the product (which Adele will have ready for you ahead of your appt).
From here, Adele will begin treatment. Her technique is based on her level of experience and education in the industry, as well as being guided by your facial anatomy and targeted results. This part should take about 20 minutes or so.

Gummy smile treatment uses small, precisely placed injections of botulinum toxin into the muscles that lift the upper lip when you smile. By temporarily relaxing these muscles, the upper lip does not rise quite as high, helping to reduce the amount of gum that is visible. The treatment is designed to create a more balanced smile while keeping your expression looking natural, with results developing gradually over the following days.
Downtime after gummy smile treatment is usually minimal, and most people can return to their normal daily activities straight away. You may experience slight redness, swelling, tenderness or small raised bumps around the injection sites immediately after treatment, but these typically settle within a few hours. Mild bruising can occasionally occur and may take a few days to fade. Your practitioner will provide full aftercare advice following treatment to help support the best possible result.
